Painting and Drawing
Unfortunately in 2010, ACA will not be running painting and drawing. Apologies for any inconvenience.
TERM 1: Painting I (Focus on Acrylics)
As an introduction to painting, this course focuses on colour theory and composition. Students will learn to work with acrylics and watercolours, gaining confidence and having fun in a supportive group environment.
Upon completion of this course, students will have completed a minimum of two acrylic paintings on canvas.
TERM 2: Drawing I
This course is designed as an introduction to basic drawing methods and materials. Students will explore the techniques of pencil, pen and ink, charcoal, and pastels while learning elements of drawing such as line, tone and simple composition in a fun and supportive environment.
Upon completion of this course, each student will have created a small folio of works.
TERM 3: Painting II (Painting with Acrylics)
As a continuation to painting, this course focuses on colour and composition. Students will learn paint application techniques while working on canvas to create their own pieces of art.
Aimed to promote self-expression and development of the creative (right) brain- students will gain confidence and have fun in a supportive, relaxed group environment.

Materials included:
Drawing I set includes sketchbook, pencils, charcoal, eraser, blender, ink pen, A3 folder, set of notes and use of a quality desk-top easel with inbuilt drawer for the duration of the course.
Painting I set includes canvas pad, acrylics sample set, basic brush set, 2 x stretched canvas, set of notes and use of a quality desk-top easel with inbuilt drawer for the duration of the course.
